Along the Mercian Way

This unusual and rather stunning route marker highlights the distance to Chester (to the north) and Bewdley (to the south) along the Mercian Way, a beautiful cycling / walking route that covers 230 miles from Salisbury in Wiltshire to Chester in Cheshire. Mercia was once the most successful ancient Anglo-Saxon kingdom in the heart of England.
